WIP

I'll get to the cyborg drawing in a bit, right now I'm trying to get back on the sketching horse after being home.  I spent more time than I would have liked on this but I think it's close to what I was going for.  You guys have any critiques?  I'd really appreciate it, I feel like its close but its missing something.

  1. Jeez! This looks extremely nimble/way overpowered; I can imagine it doing out-of-control loop-de-loops to gain speed, then finally taking off in the right direction once enough air gets going past the aerofoils. If anything I would have made the front foil protrude forward more, but that may make it look too balanced.

  2. Awesome sketch sir. The only thing that jumped out at me initially was the design of the front handle bar area. It resembles a mouse head for me. That may be resolved with the final color breakup. I was also reflecting on typical racing associations and how they standardized aspects of the entry vehicles. Maybe you can include something that carries through all the designs so they appear part of a larger association. Not sure if that was something you were already doing. Even it its a standardized lighting system like in boating. Something to think about if you haven't already. Keep us posted!

  3. Love all the ducting and motor cues!

I also saw the mouse, and now... can not un-see it.

  4. I'm so frikken sick of standardization! They're controlled by bipedal meat servos, isn't that enough standardization? And check out Ian's shaded / revised sketch on his blog.

  5. Whats wrong with standardization? As artists we are at our best when faced with constraints!!! Check out The Veiled Virgin by Giovanni Strazza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Veiled_Virgin). Its incredible because the medium appears to be transparent. Its what he was able to accomplish with the constraints of marble that makes it outstanding.

    1. Ugh, you're so reasonable now! You probably didn't even wrestle any of your students to the ground because they disagreed with you

    2. Yes, I'm familiar with that piece; in fact I remember you loosing your shit one day when we were flipping through my year's collection of "Desktop Images." I'm just saying this vehicle looks cool because it doesn't conform to FMVSS 108 or NHTSA 5mph Bumper crash standards.
