Lockheed Martin YX-151

Here we have Lockheed's newest demonstration aircraft, the YX-151.  Inspired by the P-51 and a lot of the Grosvenor House World-Race plane, and using the Raptor/ Lightning II form language, this aircraft would provide excitement for will-be pilots and get recruitment papers signed faster than you can say "You'll never be a fighter pilot because of your vision."

This is the awesome video which kicked off my insatiable desire to photomod this beast.

  2. Sweet! James' buddy is an engineer at Northrop Grumman and worked on the new F35 Wasp. I'll forward this to him for mechanical evaluation...

    1. Sorry, correction, the "Wasp" is the ship they were demonstrating it on. But yea, he worked on the F-35.

    2. Interesting. F35 is a Lockheed aircraft, considering he works at Northrop I wonder if he was involved with the carrier variant. I'm reminded of the fiasco that went down in 2011 when it was found the tail hook of the F35 was placed to far forward to hook the catch cable on our active aircraft carriers. Maybe he's helping re-design the hook. (currently underway)

    3. No idea. I do know that they were awarded something like a $1k bonus for every lb they shaved. He drives a CTS-V wagon...
