Man. The shading on the valve cover is money- spot on. I remain impressed with your selection and placement of sponsor decals. I prefer the front foils in the sketch rather than the rendering- they're more coherent with the design of the fuselage- but if your goal was to have an unexpected feature, you've hit your mark. Congrats on the Kotaku recognition!
I'm also digging the foil on the sketch more so. I like how they almost work as bookends to the main form. The boat-tail-esque rear is nice as well. The weight up front tapering towards the rear gives it good direction.
Yeah, that was definitely the hardest part of the design for me to resolve. After I had shaded up the original foils they just looked too dated. Kind of WW2ish. But I do agree the forms matched better. I've already got a pretty antique looking engine block and so I thought that I could get a little more future tech feel out of more geometric, purposeful wings. Now it also has rudder and pitch control with the new variant.
